The Power of Your Voice
In order for individuals to be in control of their own supports, they need to learn to speak up for themselves. This can happen through participation in the more formalized self advocacy movement or by everyday encouragement to express what is important to them.

Merrimack Valley Self Advocates
Self Advocates learn that with the right to manage their supports comes the responsibility of follow-through. With the individual at the center of the planning process, we focus on self-development, making choices, taking leadership and achieving dreams. Join us for the following opportunities: Speak on hot topics, meet new people, hear motivational speakers, share what’s working, and share what’s not working.
Peer Support
Peer Support is a DDS funded program facilitated by The Arc designed to support people with disabilities interested in having more choice, control and responsibility over their lives. It is provided through one-to-one and small group opportunities.
This program includes a Peer Support Advisory Committee where members are paid to provide guidance in amplifying the voice of people with disabilities.
